5 Ways To Grow Your Instagram Account

1. BUILD YOUR COMMUNITY

If you want people to interact with your content you have to engage with theirs! Most Instagram users are scrolling through their feed mindlessly and it's very difficult to capture their attention long enough for them to even notice what they are seeing, let alone write an actual comment. However, when we take the time to engage in a real & genuine way, people will respond and be much more likely to interact with our content (& maybe even share it)! At the end of the day, it's about creating relationships and building a community. That can't be done by mindless scrolling and meaningless interactions.

 

2. CREATE THEMES

Not sure what to post? Figure out what your core values are and what message you're trying to share with the world. Then, brainstorm at least 5 topics that you'd like to share about in order to spread your message that way you'll always be able to come up with a post. 3. GEOTAG

Geotagging is crucial for bringing traffic to your posts but it's also invaluable when using it for a local business. It not only helps with online traffic, it also gives users another way to connect with you on an emotional level. If you're at your favorite coffee shop - geotag it. If you're at your business - geotag it. It's an unconscious touchpoint that brings a level of humanity to your account and helps users get to know you and where your business is (while also bringing in extra "likes").

 

4. INVEST IN INFLUENCER MARKETING

Influencer marketing is one of the best ways to get your name in front of your ideal audience. If you choose the right influencers, it's much more targeted and effective than traditional advertising. It not only helps you grow your social following and sales, but it can also be used in order to create custom content for your account (that you'd typically spend a lot of $ on). If you ask us, that's a win from every angle.

 

5. MIX UP YOUR HASHTAGS

Using a variety of hashtags not only increases traffic to your posts but also helps users understand your core values. We suggest using larger hashtags like, "#coffeeshop" but also smaller ones like "#raleighcoffee" or #madeinraleigh in order to reach the optimal audience.

6. REGRAM LOCAL ACCOUNTS

This tip is helpful for some businesses but we wouldn't necessarily recommend it for everyone. Most accounts love to be regrammed and when you engage locally, there's so much more room for community interaction. This goes hand in hand with the tip #1 and can even enable you to take your community from online to in-person. This gives you points with the accounts you're regramming but also gives your followers useful information (just make sure you're regramming great content that makes sense & isn't a direct competitor!).
